Both the flume tank and the field experiments were carried out to clarify t
he relationship between tied-eye position and retrieving depth of crank-bai
t lure. Trial lure with adjustable tied-eye position were made and were use
d in both the experiments with 40, 60 and 80 cm/s of retrieving speed. Divi
ng depth, tension on a towing line and attack angle of the lure were measur
ed in the flume tank. Diving behavior of the lure was investigated within 2
0 meters retrieving course in the field experiment. Coefficient (C-t) was i
ndicated as the ratio of the distance (d) between the lip tip and the tied-
eye position to the overall length (L-0) of the lure on the plane figure. I
n case of C-t is approximately equal to 0.25, the deepest retrieving depth
was recorded with 20 degrees similar to 40 degrees of the attack angle.
