W. Mroz et al., Micro channel plate gains for Ta10+-Ta44+ ions, measured in the energy range from 3.7 keV/q up to 150.7 keV/q, NUCL INST A, 437(2-3), 1999, pp. 335-345
The procedure of calibration of a detector assembly consisting of a micro c
hannel plate detector operated in a Chevron configuration is described. The
analog particle gains of Ta ions with charge states ranging from q = 10(+)
to 44(+) and ion impact energies from 3.2 to 153.2 keV/q have been measure
d. For the investigated range of ion impact energies we have stated that fo
r tantalum charge states of 10(+)-20(+) the secondary ion-electron emission
coefficient is dominated by the kinetic emission of electrons. Potential e
ffects being visible for the charge states above 20(+). (C) 1999 Elsevier S
