Abstract
We studied the absorption cross section for light ions at hundreds of MeV e nergy. For such particles solid state detectors have a reduced detection ef ficiency due to nuclear interactions. The results for the efficiency are co ndensed to simple formulae with only one parameter. (C) 1999 Elsevier Scien ce B.V. All rights reserved.
