Abstract
The present study was conducted to investigate the applicability of proton microprobe techniques in the assessment of intracellular ion concentrations in individual cardiac-type H9c2 cells. Several methods to minimise the con tribution of the extracellular environment were explored. Preliminary resul ts indicate that proton microprobe techniques might be useful to assess int racellular ion concentrations in individual, cultured cells. (C) 1999 Elsev ier Science B.V.
