Functional monoorganotin alkoxides and oxides, and monoorganooxotins carbox ylates have been synthesized in high yield by reaction of the corresponding trialkynyloganotins respectively with water, alcohols and carboxylic acids , Functional starting trialkynylorganotins were obtained either by alkynyla tion of organotin trichlorides or by a new selective transmetallation of te traalkynyltins by Grignard reagents. By changing the stoichiometry of the r eactants, the transmetallation can selectively give dialkynyldiorganotins.
