Abstract
We propose a soft pair potential for ellipsoidal molecules incorporating pe rtinent nonspherical features and retaining characteristics of the Lennard- Jones (LJ) interaction. The study of the second virial coefficient for the model fluids demonstrates integrable character of the potential and gives t he corresponding LJ expression in a simple analytical form.
