Abstract
Effect of stereoregularity on the photo-oxidative degradation and weatherin g of polypropylenes (PPs) (isotactic: IPP and syndiotactic: SPP) was examin ed compared with that of high-density polyethylene (HDPE) by means of spect rophotometries and molecular weight measurement. It was found that SPP is m ore stable than IPP against photo-oxidative degradation and to weathering, and HDPE is the most stable among the examined polymers. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science Ltd.
