Abstract
The Raman spectroscopic investigation of hydrogen and deuterium trapped in argon, nitrogen, oxygen, and carbon monoxide matrices with a guest/host rat io of 1:100 is presented. The spectra show complex line groups indicating s trong influences of the matrix host on the observed species. A dilution ser ies with guest/host ratios of 1:50-1:500 of hydrogen in nitrogen matrices i s discussed with respect to the interaction between the hydrogen molecules as well as host-guest interactions.
