A 61-year-old man, with pseudoaneurysm of the superior mesenteric artery pr
esenting with gastrointestinal bleeding, was successfully treated by transc
atheter embolization using interlocking detachable coils. During the follow
ing observation time of 10 months, the patient had no sign of gastrointesti
nal bleeding. We underline the importance and feasibility of transcatheter
embolization as the first-line treatment in such pseudoaneurysms.
