Abstract
The use of contrast-enhanced transthoracic echocardiography to evaluate lef t ventricular regional wall motion was determined by comparison of echocard iographic data with assessments obtained by magnetic resonance imaging. Whe n left ventricular endocardial segments are well visualized after contrast enhancement, the ability to determine normal versus abnormal endocardial th ickening with echocardiography is similar to cine magnetic resonance imagin g.
