Abstract
It has been suggested that frontal lobe pathology is associated with n egative symptoms in patients with chronic alcoholism lit this explorat ory study, the authors examined 19 chronic alcoholic inpatients on an alcohol treatment unit and found a significant relationship between se verity of frontal atrophy (as measured by CT) and negative symptoms (I ts measured by the Scale for the Assessment of Negative Symptoms).
