The genera of butterflies occurring in Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka, Nep al, Bhutan, Bangladesh and Myanmar are reported. The following informa tion is given for each genus: Original reference; synonym(s); common n ame; type species; species occurring in Indian Region; endangered spec ies/subspecies; larval food plants; and distribution of genus within t he Indian Region as well as its range outside the region. The current valid name of the genus and species occurring in the Indian Region are listed. A total of 144 genera of Lycaenidae (including Liphyridae and Curetidae Auct.) are reported.
