PHYLOGENETIC-RELATIONSHIPS AND TRIBAL PLACEMENT OF ODETTE BAUDON (COLEOPTERA, BUPRESTIDAE)

The monotypic buprestid genus Odettea Baudon is briefly discussed in r elationship to previous placements. Following the discussion of the re sults of a cladistic analysis, we propose that Odettea be transferred from the subtribe Nothomorphina Cobos to Polycestina Lacordaire. We su ggest that Agaeocerina Nelson be transferred from Thrincopygini LeCont e to Buprestini and Polycestina from Buprestini to Polycestini Lacorda ire (= Thrincopygini). Photographs of male and female Odettea laosensi s Baudon and two cladograms are presented.
