Abstract
Stereoselective alkylation of utyl-1-t-butyloxycarbonyl-3-methyl-4-imi dazolinone with 2-chloromethylquinoline, 2-chloromethylquinoxaline and 5-chloromethyl-1,10-phenanthroline, followed by hydrolysis, afforded the corresponding (S)-(+)-alpha-amino acids with high enantiomeric exc ess.
