Abstract
Data from the Catsop catchment in South Limburg, Netherlands was simulated with the model KINEROS2. The results of calibration and validation on a spl it set of runoff and sediment data are reported and the variations in appar ent parameters are analyzed. Calibration was performed with regard to the t emporal distribution of runoff and sediment rather than single values such as total or peak rates. Based on the simulations, soil erodibility was cons iderably higher in 1993 than earlier years. Sediment discharge is quite sen sitive to hydrologic simulation, as the amount and velocity of runoff affec ts sediment transport capacity which in turn determines the delivery of soi l disturbed by rainsplash. Overall ability of the model to reproduce the me asured data was considered relatively good. Published by Elsevier Science B .V.
