Abstract
This paper describes the attempt to apply the MEDRUSH model to the Catsop b asin in the Netherlands. The model is intended to run on hourly time steps for periods of up to 100 years and for areas of up to 2500 km(2). The Catso p basin has an area of 0.42 km(2) and storm durations of up to 2 h in total . Model and catchment are therefore rather ill-matched, and the comparison is not successful. However, the exercise has shown that the model could be improved, even within these constraints, and several changes to water and s ediment routing within the model have been researched and are now being imp lemented. These changes are described, although it has not yet been possibl e to re-run the model against the Catsop catchment. (C) 1999 Elsevier Scien ce B.V. All rights reserved.
