Abstract
Dichlorophenylborane reacts smoothly with [Li- (tmen)][CH2PPh2] in THF to a fford, in good yields, the Li(tmen)(+) salt of a novel monoanionic tridenta te phosphinoborate, tris(diphenylphosphinomethyl)phenylborate; reaction of the ligand with SnCl2 produces tris(diphenylphosphinomethyl) phenylboratoti n(II) chloride, which may be dehalogenated to give the eta(3) compound, {[P hB-(CH2PPh2)(3)]Sn}PF6, tris(diphenylphosphinomethyl)-phenylboratotin(II) h exafluorophosphate.
