Abstract
The title compound was synthesized by the reaction of TPA . 3HClO(4) with F eCl3 . 6H(2)O in methanol. Formula: C36H36Cl4Fe2N8O9, Mr = 978.22. The X-ra y crystal structure analysis-shows that the crystal is monoclinic, space gr oup C2/c, with a=16. 3003(3), b=17.180(3), c=16.582(3) Angstrom, V = 4313 A ngstrom(3) , Z = 4, D-c = 1.299g/cm(3), the final R = 0.043, R-w=0.049 for 4211 observable reflections. X-ray crystallographic studies indicated the p resence of a single bridged diiron core in the title compound.: The Fe-O-Fe bond angle is 174.4 degrees, while the Fe ... Fe distance is 3.565 Angstro m. The iron( III) is six-coordinated by four nitrogen atoms from TPA , one chip ride ion and ope mu-oxo atom, with a distorted octahedral coordination environment.
