Abstract
We used playback in the held to test Boat-tailed Crackles (Quiscalus major) for the ability to discriminate local songs from foreign songs. Male grack les responded more strongly to songs recorded at their own colony than to s ongs recorded at colonies 4-13 km distant. Female grackles showed little re sponse to either local or foreign song.
