A novel multilayer film containing quaternized poly(4-vinylpyridine) comple
xed with [Os(bpy)(2)CI](+/2+)(POs) was achieved on the surface of glassy ca
rbon electrode modified with branched poly(ethylenimine)(PEI) by alternate
deposition of POs with sodium poly(styrenesulfonate)(PSS). The electrochemi
cal behavior of the multilayer film electrode is described. The catalytic e
ffect of the multilayer film electrode on the oxidation of L-cysteine is st
udied.
