The purpose of this summary is to highlight several areas of recent researc h performed in liquid assisted ventilation techniques. These areas were cho sen specifically based on their contribution to elucidate mechanisms of imp roved pulmonary support or provoke additional and novel applications of thi s modality to reduce pulmonary complications of immaturity or acute lung in jury.
