Abstract
The preparation of pyridinecarboxylates and pyridinedicarboxylates by alkox ycarbonylation of chloropyridines with carbon monoxide in the presence of p alladium acetate and 1,1'-bis(diphenylphosphino)ferrocene is described. The process uses readily available starting materials and affords pyridinecarb oxylates in good to very good yields.
