Abstract
Computer simulations are often an attractive alternative to experimental wo rk carried out to reinforce theoretical concepts learnt in lectures. In thi s article MATLAB is used to demonstrate the ease with which many communicat ion systems can be simulated and their behaviour analysed. To illustrate th is, the essential codes for the MATLAB simulations are provided, together w ith sample results for both analogue and pulse modulation schemes.
