Abstract
This paper describes an expert system aid for the teaching of the root locu s method. In the expert system root locus plotter described, rather than us e conventional root finding algorithms, traditional sketching rules and dev eloped equations for locus branches off the real axis in the s-plane are em bodied within an expert system in its knowledge base.
