Abstract
A burst-mode CMOS LD driver IC (V-dd = 3.3 V) for 156 Mbit/s transmiss ion has been developed for the first time. This driver enables instant aneous control of the amplitude of light signals by an APC-free circui t. We obtained a wide control range for the drive current and pulsewid th. with a small deviation of <+2% between 0 and 70 degrees C.
