The effects of salary level and organizational level on possible bias in jo b evaluation were investigated in two studies. In Study 1,328 undergraduate s were provided with salary information, low or high, and then asked to gen erate a label for a job description before making job evaluation ratings. T he effect of salary level on total points was mediated by perceived organiz ational level. In Study 2, 48 undergraduates were provided with salary leve l and organizational level information and rated perceived organizational a nd salary level and made job evaluation ratings. Perceived organizational l evel mediated the effect of manipulated organizational level on total point s.
