The magnetic properties of the tetragonal RRh2Ge2 compounds (R = Gd, Tb, Dy
) have been studied on single crystals. They exhibit a complex low-temperat
ure behavior due to the interplay of exchange and crystal field interaction
s. In particular several successive phase transitions occur below the Neel
temperature, and metamagnetic field-induced transitions are present at low
