Folds and striae in laser in situ keratomileusis flaps

PURPOSE: To classify striae and folds seen after laser in situ keratomileus is, METHODS: The authors' experience and review of the literature form the basi s for the proposed classification. RESULTS: Five types of folds and striae are described: loose epithelium, hi nge ridge, hinge fold, deep stromal striae, deep epithelial/Bowman's striae , CONCLUSION: Linear striae in laser in situ keratomileusis flaps have a vari ety of appearances and different postoperative courses that require accurat e diagnosis and management.
