Proton diffusion mas observed in Y-doped SrZrO3 ceramics above 500 degrees
C by quasielastic neutron scattering. The line width of the quasielastic co
mponent varies with energy transfer Q and temperature. The temperature depe
ndence is well elucidated by the thermal activation-type proton migration w
ith activation energy of 0.2 eV. The observed hopping distance was 1.7 Angs
trom, which is comparable to one of the distances between two proton sites.
