Abstract
Polypropylene fibres dyeable with disperse dyes have been prepared by melt blending with poly(ethylene-covinyl acetate) (EVA) prior to extrusion. Mech anical properties of the physically modified fibres were investigated. Fibr es with various amounts of EVA were dyed with disperse dyes and the dyeabil ity of these fibres investigated. In addition the influence of different pr oportions of vinyl acetate in the EVA formulation was also studied.
