Abstract
Three homologous series of new compounds containing 2,3-difluorophenylene a nd trans-1,4-substituted cyclohexane have been synthesized by a coupling re action with Pd(PPh3)(2)Cl-2 as the catalyst. Their liquid crystalline prope rties have been studied by optical polarizing microscopy and DSC. The relat ionship between the properties and chemical structures of the target compou nds is discussed in detail.
