Abstract
Langasite (La3Ga5SiO14) is a new piezoelectric material which is similar to quartz, LN (LiNbO3) and LT (LiTaO3) in its acoustic behavior. In this stud y, langasite single crystals were grown by the self-designed Czochralski sy stem. We also investigated optical transmittance and coloring of grown crys tals in accordance with growth atmosphere and piezoelectric properties. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
