Abstract
Through the creation of a hierarchical model of a technological design syst em it becomes possible to ensure the functional completeness of the system, permit the user to "overlay" command control programs depending on the dem ands of the design, satisfy the information needs of the system user and se parate the topical content from the command control programs and their repr esentation in computer memory at different hierarchical levels.
