Abstract
Equations are derived to allow for different mean velocities of axial flow for different sizes of particles in fully mired ball mills. The equations a re modified to allow for the exit classification that occurs in grate-disch arge autogenous and semiautogenous tumbling mills. An approximate treatment is given that applies for other forms of residence time distribution, prov ided that the mill contents are close to fully mixed.
