The effects of the newly synthesized triazole, 1-amino-6-methyl-4-phenylpyr
azolo[3,4-6]-1,2,3-triazole (V5), on the dermatophyte Trichophyton rubrum w
ere tested. Optical and electron microscopy showed that the treatment suppr
essed the various forms of saprophytic conidia, induced the formation of ch
lamydospores and accelerated the formation of arthroconidia. This new triaz
ole did not reveal any fungistatic or fungicidal activity and could not be
considered as an antifungal substance.
