J. Bansmann et al., Relationship between magnetic circular and linear dichroism in photoemission from Fe 3p core level: An experimental and theoretical investigation, PHYS REV B, 60(19), 1999, pp. 13860-13868
The phenomena of magnetic circular and linear dichroism in the angular dist
ribution (MCDAD and MLDAD) of photoelectrons manifest themselves in differe
nt photoelectron intensities in the related parts of their spectra when the
sample is remanently magnetized in opposite directions. In combination wit
h the experimental results carried out at the storage ring BESSY in Berlin,
new fully relativistic photoemission calculations have been performed unde
r the consideration of fully circularly and linearly polarized radiation in
the soft-x-ray region. Were, we present the energetic dependence and the r
elationship between MCDAD and MLDAD in the energy range from hv=90 to 175 e
V. The physical origin of both phenomena is analyzed in detail with respect
to the hybridization of the Fe 3p multiplet and the dynamics in this proce
ss is discussed. [S0163-1829(99)00140-X].
