States in Dy-162 populated in the beta decay of Ho-162, produced in the Tb-
159 (alpha,n) reaction, were studied with high efficiency Ge detectors with
the aim of assessing a possible candidate for a K-pi=0(+)gamma gamma doubl
e phonon excitation near 1400 keV. Previous evidence in favor of such an in
terpretation is shown to be incorrect, while new data reestablishes the pos
