R. Casadio et B. Harms, Energy absorption by the dilaton waves around a rotating black hole in a binary system - art. no. 104017, PHYS REV D, 6010(10), 1999, pp. 4017
In this paper we analyze a binary system consisting of a star and a rotatin
g black hole. The electromagnetic radiation emitted by the star interacts w
ith the background of the black hole and stimulates the production of dilat
on waves. We then estimate the energy transferred from the electromagnetic
radiation of the star to the dilaton waves as a function of the frequency.
The resulting picture is a testable signature of the existence of dilaton f
ields as predicted by string theory in an astrophysical context. [S0556-282
