Abstract
We apply the generalized zeta function method to compute the Casimir energy and pressure between an unusual pair of parallel plates at finite temperat ure, namely, a perfectly conducting plate (epsilon-->infinity) and an infin itely permeable one (mu-->infinity). The high- and low-temperature limits o f these quantities are discussed. Relationships between high- and low-tempe rature limits for the free energy are established by means of a modified ve rsion of the temperature inversion symmetry. [S0556-2821(99)02720-4].
