''Power-law cosmologies" are defined by their growth of the cosmological sc
ale factor as t(alpha) regardless of the matter content or cosmological epo
ch. Constraints from the current age of the universe and from the high reds
hift supernovae data require "large" alpha (approximate to 1). We reinforce
this with the latest available observations. Such a large alpha is also co
nsistent with the right amount of helium and the lowest observed metallicit
y in the universe for a model with the baryon entropy ratio approximate to
8.1 x 10(-9). [S0556-2821(99)08620-8].
