A study of the spectral and kinetic parameters of impurity core-valence lum
inescence (CVL) excited by synchrotron radiation in K1-xCsxCl and Rb1-xCsxC
l mixed crystals is reported. The dependences of the intensity and radiativ
e decay time tau of impurity CVL on exciting photon energy h nu have been f
ound to be correlated. It is concluded that the observed tau=f(h nu) relati
on originates from nonradiative decay of core excitations near the surface,
which govern also the excitation spectral features in this spectral region
