Abstract
Astrocytic changes were followed up in the brain of infants who had di ed of herpetic encephalitis. Neuromorphological examinations revealed astocytic structural changes directed to reinforcement of the blood-br ain barrier, localization of the infection and, possibly, to inactivat ion of the virus.
