Abstract
An approximation for the grand potential Omega(mu, T, V) Of a uniform elect ron gas at finite temperature, based on a partial resummation of the many-b ody perturbation expansion, has been suggested by Rebel and Hitchon. Their sum of exchange contributions did not contain a T-2 In T term in a low temp erature expansion and seemed to remove unphysical behaviour usually associa ted with long range bare Coulomb interactions, without invoking conclusions to be incorrect.
