Free-standing polypyrrole/polysulfide conducting composite films were elect
rochemically synthesized in the acetonitrile/acetone compound solvent with
the liquid polysulfide rubber as supporting electrolyte. The obtained compo
site films were compact and flexible. FT-IR spectroscopic characterization
of polymers suggested that polysulfide counterions have been incorporated i
nto the PPy film during the electrochemical polymerization. Electrochemical
voltammetric studies showed that the synthesized composite films have good
electroactivity and electrochemical reversibility. (C) 1999 Elsevier Scien
