The author sketches the recent critique of the fundamentals of didactic the
ory, taking a close look at the development of didactic models for the subj
ect pedagogics. In so far as the present critique of the fundamentals does
not critically reflect the foundations of existing didactic theories on a h
igher level but, rather, negates them in the abstract, it is itself open to
critique. Based on Heydorn's theory of education, these trends are also in
vestigated in the didactics of pedagogics as school subject. The changed mo
dels of legitimization, in particular, which serve the grounding of the sub
ject pedagogics are examined and analyzed with regard to their impact on di
sciplinary didactic concepts. In the final part, the author discusses a pos
sible new accentuation in didactics for the school subject pedagogics.
