In the title compound, [Cu-2(N-3)(2)(C7H10N2)(2)(H2O)(2)](ClO4)(2), the Cu
atom is in a distorted square-pyramidal environment with the basal position
s occupied by four N atoms, two from a bidentate 2-(2-aminoethyl)pyridine l
igand and another two from a centrosymmetrically related azide bridge. The
water molecule occupies the axial position. In the crystal, the molecules a
re in a stacked arrangement and form layers connected by hydrogen bonds inv
olving water molecules and perchlorate ions.
