Bis(pyrimidine-2-thiolato-N,S)bis(trimethyl phosphite-P)cobalt(III) hexafluorophosphate

The title complex, [Co(C4H3N2S)(2){P(OCH3)(3)}(2)PF6, with mixed N-heterocy clic thiolate and trimethyl phosphite Ligands, was synthesized and characte rized by X-ray crystallography and spectroscopic measurements. The Co-III i on is six-coordinated and has a slightly distorted octahedral geometry, bei ng coordinated to two pairs of N and S atoms of two monoanionic bidentate p yrimidine-2-thiolate ligands and the P atom of each of two monodentate trim ethyl phosphite ligands, with three pairs of essentially equal bonds distan ces [Co-N 1.968 (6) and 1.976 (5) Angstrom, Co-P 2.174 (2) and 2.177 (2) An gstrom, and Co-S 2.279 (2) and 2.282(2) Angstrom].
