Abstract
The title compound, C40H48O4, has twofold crystallographic symmetry and exh ibits a square-like conformation, with furan rings positioned alternately u p-down-up-down, nearly orthsgonal to the mean plane of the macrocyclic ring . This is the most orthogonal position of the furan rings towards the mean plane of the macrocyclic ring among known compounds of this type.
