Examination of freshwater fishes from Chad (Central Africa) revealed the pr
esence of three new species of Myxosporea. They are. Henneguya fusiformis s
p. n. in Clarias anguillaris Linne, 1758 (Clariidae) characterized by a fus
iform sporal body (32.0 +/- 0.83 x 6.16 +/- 0.68 mu m) and pyriform polar c
apsules (5.73 +/- 0.43 x 3.5 +/- 0.5 mu m); Thelohanellus citharini sp. n.
found in Citharinus citharus Geoffroy St-Hilaire, 1809 (Citharinidae) had p
yriform spores (11.07 +/- 0.62 x 6.15 +/- 0.36 mu m) and elongated polar ca
psules (6.57 +/- 0.49 x 3.23 +/- 0.42 mu m); Thelohanellus ndjamenaensis sp
. n. described from Labeo parvus Boulenger, 1902 (Cyprinidae) had ovoid spo
res (10.28 +/- 0.43 x 7.32 +/- 0.46 mu m) and pyriform polar capsules (4.21
+/- 0.4 x 3.21 +/- 0.43 mu m).
