Abstract
Carotenogenesis in Nocardioform actinomycete Rhodococcus rhodochrous was in vestigated using carotenogenesis mutants and inhibitors, and a postulated c arotenogenesis pathway was proposed. At the end of the synthesis, fatty aci d or mycolic acid was esterified by different esterases to the same C-6 hyd roxyl group of beta-D-glucoside.
